Captain's Log: Trip Day 15. Another day of pretty heavy driving. A little over 400 miles. We are past the 4k mile point in our trip. Some of the miles today went by very fast (literally). We were in the middle of the Bonneville salt flats on I80 in Utah. The posted speed limit was 80mph...  This is where Craig Breedlove broke so many land speed  records back in the 60's. They still hold the World of Speed competitions in September. People go for speed records in all kinds of vehicle categories. This was also the almost 100 year anniversary where the first transcontinental telephone line was completed. Missed it by 3 days (June 17th 1914).

Just for the record...

We hit Salt Lake City and then on to Green River, UT via US 6. Heather found the perfect independent hotel with a large-family room!

Heather and I enjoyed a nice meal by the Green River. A beautiful Utah sunset was also visible from our table.
